CNC Machinist
Job Summary
M.S. Willett Inc. — BLEMA North America is looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Littlestown, PA. You will set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling and turning equipment to produce precision tooling components, die parts, and metal forming assemblies that are central to everything we build. Responsibilities and Duties
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines and lathes to produce components per engineering drawings, CAD models, and work order specifications
- Interpret complex blueprints, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) callouts, and technical documentation to determine machining sequences and tooling requirements
- Perform first-article inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, dial calipers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
- Edit, adjust, and optimize CNC programs to improve cycle times, surface finishes, and dimensional accuracy
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and fixturing methods based on material type and part geometry
- Monitor tool wear during production runs and replace or adjust tooling as needed to maintain consistent part quality
- Perform routine machine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, coolant management, and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve machining challenges, suggest process improvements, and support new product development
- Maintain accurate documentation of production data, inspection results, tool life records, and any deviations from standard processes
Qualifications and Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC milling and/or turning equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated proficiency with Fanuc or Siemens CNC controls
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T per ASME Y14.5
- Competence with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, CMM)
- Working knowledge of common metals and their machining characteristics (tool steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass)
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
- Experience with CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, or SolidCAM
- Familiarity with tooling and die components, progressive dies, or transfer tooling
- Journeyman certification or completion of a recognized machining apprenticeship program
- Experience with multi-axis machining (4-axis or 5-axis)
- Manual machining skills (Bridgeport mill, engine lathe) as a complement to CNC work
